Day 1A Belonged to @KyleK_Poker

Chipping up early, never really looking back, only threatened a few brief times. Day 1A of the WPTDeepStacks $100,000 Guaranteed Main Event was all about Kyle Kitagawa - WPTDS World Traveler.

One of the first players to reach 6-figures, Kitagawa took a commanding chiplead when former WSOP Main Event champ Jerry Yang bluff-shoved into Kitagawa while drawing dead. This pushed Kitagaw to more than 100,000 clear of the field early in Level 12.

Kathy Stahl and Darrel Dier both  had 100k-plus stacks midway through the day, but slid back as the night wore on. Rick Peterson and Hector Ramos both topped 150k for a while as well. Ramos saw a big part of his stack go away in the last 30 minutes - set over set against Tristan Wade. Ramos was eliminated an orbit later. Peterson also ran rough in the last 30 minutes and he also did not make Day 2.

Among those who came out for Day 1A but did not find a Day 2 bag was Steve Kujubu, Sean Drake, Jerry Utke, Rafael Gonzalez, Greg White, Dee Timmons, Todd Machado, Amber Chatiwn, Simon Salas, Armando Perez, Niv Decalo and Mario Lopez.
