Series Title Up for Grabs

There's a five-way Chase for the Title taking place, and while Armando Perez (above) has a big lead, he has not completely closed out four of his rivals.

Winner of the 2016 Player of the (Championship) Series takes home one of the best prizes any poker room offers. Not only is there a jacket, a trophy and a banner that hangs in the poker room ... but there's also ... one complimentary entry in to EVERY Turlock Poker Room tournament for one full year.

Perez won two of the nine premilinary events and cashed in five of the seven tourney he played in, to take a commanding lead in to the Main Event.

Ken Kajioka, Brent Bixby and Michael Jobe can all overtake Perez if he does NOT cash in the Main Event AND one of the three has to win the Main Event. Kajioka cashed in six of the eight events he played - the most cahses overall for a player during the series.

Tim Weimer has the best chance to win the title, and it is a slim one at that. Weimer wins the title with a Main Event runner-up finish IF Perez does not cash. If both players cash, Perez can close out Weimer with a 6th place or better finish, while Weimer needs a victory with a 7th place or less Perez-cash.

Weimer, Kajioka and Jobe all bagged more than 100,000 chips for Day 2, while Perez has yet to bag and is short-stacked in Level 9 today.
