What Could Have Been

There was a hand about 45 minutes before making it down to the final table that had potential to have a major impact on today's $200 Monster Stack ... if it had only played all the way out ...

One short-stacked player moves all-in, two make the call, including then-chipleader David Champeny, who is holding pocket Sevens.

The board is checked down, the all-in player shows air, the first caller shows pocket Jacks to knock the short-stacked player out ... and Champeny mucks.

Nothing to see here, right?

Champeny doesn't realize the river was a 7, he says, until the dealer is gathering in all the cards ... he mucked the winner, he missed a bet, maybe even a double-elimination ...

Meanwhile, back at the everyone-is-in-the-money final table, action is at

Level - 15
Blinds - 4k/8k
Antes - 1k
Remaining - 10/66
