A Few More Bounties

The final hand before the registration break in a bounty tournament can be one where short stacked players itch to get their chips in the middle for a double-up or a final re-entry.

Keep that in mind as I walk through this hand from Table 8.

There's an open to 1,300, a call, Rick Peterson moves all in for around 18,000 and David Champeny ALSO moves in for what looks to be a pretty equal stack to Rick's.

The original raiser takes so long that Rick calls clock - there's 90 seconds left before break - and the player DOES call off his stack.

The fourth player , who has everyone covered by about 3k-4k - name removed to protect the innocent - snap-folds, and up go the cards.

Original raiser shows 99
Rick shows JJ
David shows QQ

They're not ALL supposed to have pairs there!

The board runs out 4-7-A-2-5 and the original raiser is out. JeffTheDealer counts out David's stack and says he has 18,775.

Rick starts counting out his stack and I say he's come up short. Rick smacks be across the chest and says hold on, then counts down to 18,500 in front of him, and off to the cashier's cage he goes.

The unnamed fourth player?

Oh yeah, he said he folded Ace_King. He missed three $25 bounties and 47,000 extra chips.

Players are on break. Registration closes when they return and action moves to
