Cut down to less than half of the small blind on the last hand of the night last night, Mia Xiong had quite a challenge to start off Day 2 of Event 1.
All in for a total of 300 chips after the ante, Xiong - winner of our 10th Anniversary Main Event last October - saw Dan Webster, Sheila Pace and Floro Bayongan go to the flop.
The dealer spread 4♠6♣6♥ and Webster c-bet to 8000. Pace folded and Bayongan minraised to 16000, prompting a fold from Webster.
Bayongan turned over J6 for trips, but Xiong was alive with her 23 for a gutshot straight draw.
The A♦ gave her a 6-card-straight draw but when the 8♠ fell on the river, Xiong was the day's first elimination, leaving us with 20 players, 8 from the money and a redraw to two 10-handed tables.
