Two wins and five cashes later, Armando Perez takes down the 2016 Championship Series Player of the Year title. Perez takes home a trophy, a custom Turlock Poker Room jacket, has a photo shoot coming for a banner of him to hang in the poker room .. and the biggest prize of all ... one complimentary entry in to every Turlock Poker Room tournament from Dec. 1, 2016 through Nov. 30, 2017 - a YEAR'S worth of tournament entries.
Perez had a Main Event sweat, however, as Tim Weimer, Ken Kajioka, Mike Jobe and Brent Bixby could all have taken the title with a Main Event win and Perez not cashing in the Main. Well, Perez left teh toor slightly ajar when he busted a few shy of the money, but the win was secured when Weimer was teh last challenger to be knockedout, in 14th place.
Weimer finished as runner-up in the chase, while Kajioka cashed in 7 of the 9 tournaments he played in, securing third place in the Player of the Series race. Here are the top 3 in points for the series.
Armando | Perez | 302 |
Tim | Weimer | 225.7 |
Ken | Kajioka | 205.3 |
